Tyla Dickie
I started my journey at Navigator College back in 2012 as a Year 8 student and graduated in 2016.
Reflecting on my time at Navigator, what stands out most are the incredible people I met. Many of my closest friends today are from my time at Navs, and it’s where I also met my now-husband.
After graduating, I moved to Adelaide in 2017 to start nursing studies. Realising it wasn’t my true passion, I switched to a Bachelor of Human Nutrition. Upon completing my degree, I relocated to the south coast of NSW to support Connor’s new career in Naval aviation. I initially applied for a Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics, but had to pursue additional studies due to the competitive entry. After earning a Grad Cert in Nutrition, I was accepted into a 2-year Master’s program in Dietetics. I’m now working as a new graduate dietitian with an allied health company, focusing on expanding my knowledge and skills.
My biggest accomplishments so far have been marrying my high school sweetheart and (FINALLY) wrapping up 7 years of tertiary education.
To current students: It's perfectly okay not to have everything figured out. Embrace new and challenging opportunities—they often lead to amazing people and unexpected chances.
