At Navigator College, we understand that the cost of education can add up — and for many families, this time of year can bring added financial pressure.
That’s why we’re pleased to share information about Saver Plus, a government-funded program designed to support eligible families in building savings for education expenses.
What is Saver Plus?
Saver Plus is a free financial education and savings program delivered by The Smith Family and funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
The program is designed to help individuals and families:
Build practical money management skills
Develop long-term savings habits
Prepare for upcoming education costs
It’s a simple, supportive way to feel more confident and in control when it comes to finances.
How the Program Works
Saver Plus combines structured savings with financial education to help participants reach their goals.
Here’s how it works:
Save $50 per month over 10 months
Receive matched savings from ANZ, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500
Participate in free online financial education workshops (MoneyMinded)
At the end of the program, your matched savings can be used for education-related expenses such as:
School uniforms and supplies
Sporting or extracurricular fees
Technology or equipment
Course or placement costs
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, participants must meet all of the following criteria:
Hold a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card
Receive an eligible Centrelink payment
Be studying yourself or have a child attending or starting school (including homeschooling)
Have some regular income (from work, your partner, or sources such as Carer’s Payment or Child Support)
Be 18 years or older
Be willing to participate in the free MoneyMinded online workshops
Not have completed the Saver Plus program previously
