Thriving Community
Building Community Together
The College Carers group provides a key connection between families, the College, and the wider community, supporting a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose across Navigator College.
College Carers are made up of parent representatives from each class in the Junior School and from each year level in the Middle and Senior Schools. The group also includes a College Board member (who serves as Chair), College leadership representatives, and other community members who may be appointed from time to time.
The purpose of College Carers is to strengthen relationships, support community engagement, and encourage active parent involvement in the life of the College. The group plays an important role in fostering the vibrant, caring culture that is central to Navigator’s Christian values.
College Carers support the College community by:
Acting as a communication link between families and the College
Welcoming new families and helping them feel connected
Supporting class and year-level social connections and informal gatherings
Assisting with community and whole-College events such as the Twilight Festival, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, Sports Day, Stay & Play and other key activities
Encouraging parent involvement and feedback
Supporting families in times of need in partnership with the Care and Outreach Committee
Helping build a strong sense of school pride, connection, and belonging across the College community
College Carers meet at least twice each term, with smaller task groups working together as needed to support specific initiatives.
Getting involved
Navigator College values the partnership between families and the College. If you would like to be involved in College Carer initiatives or contribute to community events, we would love to hear from you.
