Kindergarten

Our Early Learning Centre (Kindergarten) is a very welcoming and nurturing environment where our focus is on the development of the whole child. Through play based learning we aim to create lifelong learners: starting with interests of the child, promoting self esteem, emotional wellbeing, socialisation, collaboration and self help skills.

The ELC is held within the College grounds in a purpose built state of the art facility, which also includes an outdoor space especially designed for Early Childhood with a fenced playground and lawn area. It is here the students will have the opportunity to develop principles of play-based learning and the concept of the IB Primary Years Programme that will form a strong foundation for learning and aid their transition to Reception.

  • Natural and wild spaces offer the best opportunities for children to freely play outdoors. At Navigator College we have our Bush Block which we use as an outdoor learning space. Nature play stimulates senses, provides social interactions or independent play, and teaches children about living things and how to care for them. Nature play also a model for sustainable practices that include natural loose parts. Our learners enjoy all these benefits daily and you can see the enjoyment on their faces and in their body language. The students are making lifetime memories, as they build a healthy, inquisitive approach to learning. Learn more

  • We’re so committed to play-based learning that our ELC students wear a play based uniform! This comfortable attire supports all learning and play experiences as well as maximises the opportunities provided within our R/1 Play Space, Bush Block and Mangiri Building, along with the extra-curricular activities offered at the College.

  • Our passionate staff guide and support our littlest learners as if they were their own.
