Parent Engagement Group (PEG) – Term 3

Hi Parents/Caregivers,

Thanks again to those of you who were able to attend our Navigator College PEG (Parent Engagement Group) parent webinar with Jenny Podorozhnaya in June. We hope you found it helpful and valuable! If you missed either session or would like to watch again please let us know and we can share the links with you.

Our PEG committee is really excited to be starting off this term with not just one or two but THREE  parent engagement opportunities!

The FIRST opportunity is a First Aid Workshop next Wednesday, 5th August from 7pm to 8:30pm at Navigator College. This workshop will be presented by Port Lincoln Training covering topics including CPR, unconscious casualty, head injuries, choking, snake bites, burns and more in a condensed format. Parents, grandparents, carers, students (age 13+) and friends are all welcome to participate in the workshop.

To reserve your place, please book and pay at ($15 per person covers the presentation and supper).

*Port Lincoln Training is a training partner of the nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation Healthcorp Pty Limited (RTO# 91222, registered 2006)

The SECOND opportunity is on Wednesday, 2nd September when we have engaged Dr Rebecca Coleman to present her Mindful Awareness Parenting (MAP®) TIME-IN Workshop. Dr Coleman is a psychologist, teacher, writer and parent educator. Using her specialist clinical expertise and research skills, she created the Mindful Awareness Parenting (MAP®) workshop and has been presenting various forms of the workshop since 2008.  See flyer below.

This 2.5 hour workshop will take place on Wednesday 2nd September 2020, from 6.30pm. The registration fee of $20 covers the presentation, take-home resources (includes a two-volume CD, handouts, magnets, poster and bag – normally valued at $50) as well as support. Please see attached flyer for more information.

To reserve your place, please book and pay at

Your THIRD opportunity is an invitation to be involved in planning future events or simply being involved in the school and meeting fellow parents. The PEG committee welcomes you to join our next meeting this coming Monday night, 3rd of August at 6.30 pm. Meetings are very casual and there is no commitment to attend all meetings. If you are interested in attending please let us know. Alternatively if you have any suggestions or feedback we would love to hear it!

We’re looking forward to these exciting opportunities to engage with other parents/caregivers from Navigator College and hope that we see you at one – or all! – of the events above.

Kind regards, Tracy Waller (on behalf of the Parent Engagement Group)
