OLD SCHOLARS SUCCESS IN CHOSEN CAREERS

It is always lovely to hear success stories of past students and none more rewarding than the story of the Shepperd twins: both taking on very different pathways from each other, but both equally successful in their chosen careers.

In March this year, Luke Shepperd graduated from Flinders University and is now a Registered Nurse, working full time as an ICU nurse in Adelaide.  Luke is the first Student from Navigator College to Graduate from Uni.  During his 3 years at University Luke was also able to assist other Navigator College students following the same pathway, as an Undergraduate Student Representative (representing over 4000 nursing students).  Within this roll he also organised Open Days for prospective students to come and visit the university.  Luke has now gone on to doing his Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) whilst working full-time with the hopes of doing a PHD.  We wish Luke all the very best for his future aspirations.

Justin Shepperd started a school based apprenticeship with Navigator College and in 2016, after 4 years, he completed his studies to become a fully qualified Marine Technician. He then went on to start his own business ‘EP Marine Outboard Service’ from home. The success of this venture, allowed him to move his business to Streaky Bay in an industrial shed and as of December last year his business became the latest Suzuki dealership on the EP.  Justin continues to grow his business and is looking to expand his workforce within the coming years.  Congratulations Justin on your success and we hope to see you grow your business, and maybe one day take on an apprentice yourself!
