The Year 10 Pathways cohort have been working on skills, personal development, passions and business throughout the course of Term 3. To culminate our knowledge and learning, the Year 10’s are pitching business ideas to five panelists from the Port Lincoln business community. Mayor Bruce Green, Matt Waller from Adventure Bay Charters, Claire Webber (Australian Bluefin Tuna Industry), Rachel Hawkins from My Eyre Peninsula and Helen Harvey (Eyre Eye Centre Practice Manager) will be on the panel.
At 11am we will hold a business panel where I will facilitate a business discussion between panelists. We will talk about the growth and development of Port Lincoln businesses and what we can look forward to as a regional community, how we are dealing with living regionally and what opportunities we should be working towards as a town.
At 11.30am students will begin pitching their business ideas to the panelists. They will have 2 minutes to present and then five minutes to respond to questions about their businesses from the panelists. The panelists will be looking to “invest” in the businesses. The overall group winner will have the opportunity to shadow a “shark” for a day and learn more about their business, the operations and the day-to-day business operation.
It is an exciting opportunity for students to show their passions, skills and knowledge and present their innovations to the panelists.
All parents and friends of the College are welcome to attend the panel which will be held at 11.00am, Wednesday September 26 in the Mangiri building.
