We have been reviewing the way we exchange information between the College and families to provide you the most useful, accurate and up to date information. Further, it is our desire to implement technology that enhances the pastoral care function of the College. As such, the College has decided to cease using ManageBac at the conclusion of 2017 and implement SEQTA, which is used by several Lutheran schools and many other schools globally. When it has been implemented, SEQTA will allow us to fulfill our commitment to continuous reporting, but also provide parents greater information such as their child’s lesson attendance, and serve as a key communication portal between the College and families.
As we prepare for this transition, we encourage you to save a copy of your child/s previous academic reports from ManageBac. Should you wish to access a copy of your child/s report after December 2017, please contact the College’s Reception on (08) 8682 5099.
We are planning to host parent information sessions to train you to use SEQTA Engage. These details will be confirmed very early in Term 1, 2018.
Given the magnitude of this transition project, we expect that it will take a significant portion of Term 1, 2018 to transfer our curriculum information onto SEQTA and train our staff. On conclusion of the information transfer, we will be able to release the Term 1 Progress Report for Middle and Senior School students (which may take place after the conclusion of the term). Please note, that teachers will continue to provide regular feedback to your child in class, and you are always more than welcome to make an appointment with any of your child/s teachers.
If you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact James Phillips, ICT Infrastructure and Directions Coordinator.
