Course outline

Stage 1 Legal Studies is a foundation course which immerses learners in the fundamental concepts to pursue Legal Studies at Stage 2. In this course, the learners read, write, discuss, analyse and debate legal issues. Additionally, the students use a variety of means to investigate legal issues and participate in mock trials.


Course content

The topics studied in Stage 1 Legal Studies are Law and Society, Justice and Society, and Motorists and the Law.



Folio Tasks (50% weighting): Two tasks

Issues Study (30% weighting): One task

Presentation (20% weighting): One task
