From the Year 1B Class Carer

Hi Students and Families,

My name is Paula Hartley and I feel privileged to introduce myself as the class carer for Mrs Baines’ Year 1B class this year. My eldest child Gracie is in Mrs Baines’ class and my husband Tim and I also have a 3 year old son, Will (or Billy, depending what he wants to be called on the day!)

I was born and raised on the Eyre Peninsula at Port Lincoln, Whyalla and Ceduna and it’s amazing to see so many familiar faces from across the Peninsula now a part of the Navigator College community.

My husband Tim and I are both Commercial Helicopter Pilots, although with Tim working a FIFO roster flying in and out to oil rigs, I’ve hung up my headset to fulfill the role of stay-at-home Mum to Gracie and Will.

Building our careers in aviation we moved around quite a bit and lived all over Australia.

2.5 years ago we made the decision to move to Port Lincoln to be closer to my parents and family so that we could bring our children up in a country environment, surrounded by extended family when Tim’s working away; we made the right choice!

We love living in Port Lincoln and are especially happy we chose Navigator College as the right school for our children. So far we’ve met some fabulous people and made new friends and I look forward to meeting more of you as the year(s) progress.

Mrs Baines Year 1B class comprises a beautiful group of children and I’m really enjoying my time in the classroom trying to get to know and build a relationship with each of the students.

I’m here to help Mrs Baines and her class, but I’m also here to assist the parents too, so you’re welcome to speak to me in confidence if Mrs Baines is busy or the need arises.

If you’re keen and available to help out with little jobs throughout the year please let me know, and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Kind regards, Paula Hartley (Ph. 0429 835 135)
